Consultation on future of EU development policy PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 23 November 2010 12:36

On 10 November 2010, the European Commission launched a public consultation on how the EU can best support developing countries to speed up their progress towards the Millennium Development Goals and beyond.

The Green Paper intends to promote a debate on how best to adapt EU development policy to the needs of developing countries and to the added value of EU action. It proposes four main areas of debate:

· The impact of EU aid

· Facilitation of more, and more inclusive, growth in developing countries

· The promotion of sustainable development

· Durable results in the area of agriculture and food security

The consultation will run from 15 November 2010 to 17 January 2011. For further information or to verify ways to contribute, please see the EC Consultation page.
