Bradford: A Rich Mix The Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Bradford Metropolitan District Council are working together to tour the UK with a series of events, designed to share learning and good practice on empowering communities and strengthening community relationships. The series is aimed at voluntary sector, community groups, social enterprises and local authorities. During the day, you will have the opportunity to: - See and comment on a new play - Estate of Mind - which was inspired by JRF-funded research on ‘Participation and community in Bradford’s traditionally white estates’. The play highlights the issues which came out of the research and brings them to life in a fresh and creative way. - Hear from a specially invited panel of speakers, who will present case studies for wider discussion. For example, JUST West Yorkshire will talk about their recent experience of working to preserve and promote positive community relationships in Bradford at a time when the English Defence League was planning a major march in the city. - Share your own learning and case studies from work and initiatives you have been involved with during the afternoon’s participatory workshop sessions. If you would like to attend this free event, please complete the e-booking form as soon as possible as places are limited. This booking form will also enable you to register your interest for one of the following workshops: • Empowering communities, strengthening community relationships Please click this link to reserve your place http://bit.ly/bPI8Ib |
