On 23rd of March, the European Commission (EC) launched a "Structured Dialogue for an efficient partnership in development". This dialogue aims to improve communication with civil society and local authorities involved in EC development cooperation. It highlights the importance of getting civil society and local authorities involved in EC decisions. 

This initiative comes as a response of several requests from civil society organisations and local authorities wanting to take a greater part in EC development cooperation in the framework of the Accra Agenda for action.

The dialogue will consist of online discussions through a new blog implemented by the EC. There will be 3 initiatives supported as well as various meetings and regional seminars.
