The key thing that will help you to get support for your project is to know what you want to do, why you are doing it and what you are trying to achieve.

Before you start looking for funding, it is important that you:

1. Understand the context, clarify expectations and define clear aims and objectives (resources below).

2. Find out about potential funders/donors, their priorities and funding programmes (resources below).

• funding programmes relevant to local authorities organised according to theme/project type (e.g. youth, sanitation, education etc.) and geography (where your project is based).

• LGA EU funding tracker - provides information about current EU funding opportunities for LGA member authorities (please note this does not include EU structural funds).
