Zimbabwe call upon the UK |

Zimbabwe is facing a crucial period of transition and its people are desperate for action from all levels of government. Zimbabwe’s councils desperately need the skills and technical expertise to tackle serious backlogs in service delivery and infrastructure development. The call from Zimbabwean local government for support from the UK is now an urgent one.
The LGA and CLGF have been in dialogue with the UK government, which welcomes the efforts of local councils across the UK to engage with counterpart organisations in Zimbabwe. Assistance in strengthening local government capacity to deliver better quality services can improve the lives of communities that have remained unsupported for too long. The LGA will shortly be contacting UK Councils about how they can lend a hand at a time of real difficulty for the people of Zimbabwe.
